Review
Porosity Valley 2: Trickster’s Plot is a video installation by Ayoung Kim who was supported by the Korea Artist Prize by Korea’s National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA). This video depicts the journey of a data cluster called Petra Genetrix, touching upon a Mongolian myth and the recent influx of Yemen refugees to Jeju Island with a science fiction-like imagination and a satirical tone. At PIPFF, this video is played on the big screen, while it was introduced as an installation video at the Berlin International Film Festival and the MMCA. The artist offers a creative reinterpretation of the meaning of migration and all the red tape involved in the process.
