Fixed to a wall with an articulate support arm, the video installation Stipulation simulates ‘Delivery Dancer’, a mobile app for a dominant delivery platform in virtual Seoul. The video played on the mobile phone shows an application that incessantly transmits the time and places information received from the Dancemaster as if possessed by a ghost. Delivery Dancers (delivery riders) log into the app, check bike gear, receive delivery calls, and follow a navigation route from pickup location to destination. Stipulation leads the audience to imagine a state of optimizing and synchronizing their body in a state of hyper-alertness according to the algorithm’s demands, as well as the bodily sensations when controlled by the algorithm.
